Peter originally practised in Ashburton and became a partner of BvonD in 1979.  He is one of the most experienced family law practitioners in Hawke’s Bay.

He has a passion for assisting young children caught up in family law disputes and, is regularly appointed by the Ministry of Justice to represent young children as Lawyer for Child.  Peter was awarded a 25 year certificate of merit for practising in the Family Court.

Peter was a member of Jaycees in Ashburton and Hastings.  He is a member of Rotary – Hastings-Karamu, a past President and a Paul Harris fellow, and is a Freemason.  He is the Chairman of the Lindisfarne College Foundation, having served on the College’s Council (1992‑2003).  He is a past President of the Hawke's Bay District Law Society and was a Council Member of the New Zealand Law Society (1996-1998). Peter regularly plays tennis and golf, and is kept on his toes by three grandchildren.
