Bruce was born and bred in Hawke’s Bay.  He joined BvonD in 1984 and has been a partner since 1988.   

He is involved in commercial and civil litigation, appearing regularly in the High and District Courts.  He also handles resource management and local government law including applications, submissions, enforcement action, prosecutions and providing advice on a wide range of issues.

Bruce is the past President of the Hawke’s Bay District Law Society (2005 & 2006), and has been on the New Zealand Law Society Council since 2005 and the New Zealand Law Society Board since 2007.  He is a Vice-President of the New Zealand Law Society at present. 

Having previously been a regular yachtsman, Bruce now keeps fit with gym work and running, enjoys holidaying with his family at Lake Taupo and a wide variety of sports.
